I have been e-mailing with Blackmagic support but non of the solutions they proposed worked. Everything was working fine till I updated to High Sierra. Nicolas Cragnolino wrote:Hi! I'm having the same issue with the dongle on a 2016 Macbook Pro 15". Since we work with FCPX since Adobe changed to subscription and we dumped all Adobe products because of that, perhaps this is the time where every good thing comes to an end and we will dump all Blackmagic as well. I was at the demonstration of Final Cut Pro X 10.4, what looked very promising for color correction. We already decided to postpone the purchase of two Davinci Resolve Mini Panels, till the issue is solved. Since we still have the problem, I am getting some kind of angry now. It is neither our problem that Blackmagic is not able to make the dual license procedure work, nor that the serial no is NOT on the dongle. When we have the original dongle we should be able to get the activation code, without having to jump through hoops. Why do we have to keep the original boxes for years (I paid $1000 for the dongle)? I am not willing to buy it again or get one of the cracked versions that float around since a serial no was introduced. This is ridiculous, why is it our problem that Blackmagic Design is not able to print the serial no on the dongle. If somebody runs into the solution to this please let us know. Nicolas Cragnolino wrote:Blackmagic told me to send my serial number to get an activation code to use instead of the dongle but I don t have it anymore as it's an old dongle and I don t have the original box anymore. (Since it sounds like the Resolve Dongle is not hot-swappable in High Sierra, that second USB startup process might have the same effect as unplugging and re-connecting.)Ĭan anyone who has had the issue fixed by Beta 1 or Beta 2 please confirm whether or not your startup disk is encrypted? (Open "System Preferences", "Security & Privacy", and look under the "FileVault" tab.) I am very suspicious that the way that High Sierra handles USB devices during startup when the startup disk is encrypted (since many of my USB devices seem to go through two startup sequences: first when the system loads the "Enter password to unlock disk" screen, and then again after the disk is unlocked. After performing a user-initiated reboot, I was prompted to enter the password to unlock my disk, as usual and, thereafter, I could not open Resolve Studio using the dongle. I noticed that, after the installation of 10.13.1 Beta 2, I was not asked to enter the password for my startup disk (APFS, Encrypted using FileVault). However, after a restart, I was back to the old problem. Immediately after installation of Beta 2 finished, I logged in and was able to open Resolve Studio 14.0.1 using the dongle. I also thought that macOS 10.13.1 Beta 2 (17B35a) solved it, but it didn't. (The macOS and Resolve betas were working so well together up until both went to release – shame to see this happen!) I am guessing that this USB behavior might be related since it seems like the Resolve dongle has lost its plug-and-play ability.īlackmagic Team: Please let me know if there is any diagnostic data or tests you would like me to collect/run to help troubleshoot this issue. The reason I mention FileVault is that USB devices always flash / USB HDDs spin up then spin down then spin up again when going through the disk decryption at startup. Additionally, I have FileVault enabled on the main disk (APFS). Two notes which may help narrow down why 10.13.1 doesn't work for me while it does for others: this installation is an upgrade from 10.12.5. macOS clearly sees the dongle in System Report as "USB DONGLE" (with Product ID: 0x0201, Vendor ID: 0x096e, Version: 1.11). However, I tried connecting the dongle via Apple's USB A to USB C adapter both directly to the computer and also to my UltraFine 5K display and neither worked. Normally, I have no problem when the dongle is connected to a USB 3.0 hub that is connected to a Thunderbolt 2 dock that is connected via Apple's Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter. I have a 15-inch Late 2016 MacBook Pro I have tried countless restarts and shutdown+startups with the USB dongle connected beforehand in different configurations. Justin Baluch wrote:Guys the latest Developer Beta of High Sierra (version 10.13.1 Beta (17B25c) corrects the issue on late 20 Macbook Pros where the Resolve Dongle was not recognized even after reboot.I just upgraded to 10.13.1 Beta (17B25c) and Resolve still does not recognize the dongle. Soon after their discovery, and still today in Post-Soviet states and their European satellites, they were used as antibacterial agents in medicine, but in the rest of Europe and the United States (US) they were relegated to the background upon the marketing of antibiotics in the 1940s. In vitro quantitative and qualitative measurements of phage characteristics, further validated by in vivo experiments, could be incorporated into one system or mathematical model/formula, which could predict a potential successful outcome of clinical applications.Ī century ago, bacteriophages (phages) were defined as “devourers of bacteria” or “obligate intracellular parasites”. Phage lytic activity or virulence should be considered as a result of the phage, its host, and intracellular/environmental factors, including the ability of a phage to recognize receptors on the bacterial cell surface. The phages require different experimental conditions to be tested to fully reveal their characteristics and phage therapy potential in view of their future use in therapy. Experimental conditions, such as the composition and consistency of culture media, have an impact on bacterial growth and, consequently, phage propagation and the selection of phage-resistant mutants. In this review, we describe some relevant methods, highlighting their advantages and disadvantages, and categorize them as preliminary or confirmatory methods where appropriate. Validated methods for phage selection, host range expansion, and lytic activity determination are indispensable for maximizing phage therapy outcomes. The reverse is also true – regions with lower median household earnings will have contractors that charge 10-13% less than the national average.Īnother factor that may significantly increase your total installation cost is the complexity of your roof design. In addition to having a low solubility, the precipitate must be free from impurities. For example, the K sp of PbSO 4 is 2 × 10 –8 in H 2O and 2.6 × 10 –12 in a 50:50 mixture of H 2O and ethanol. The poorer solvating ability of non-aqueous solvents, even those which are polar, leads to a smaller solubility product. A precipitate’s solubility is generally greater in an aqueous solution because of water’s ability to stabilize ions through solvation. When solubility is a concern, it may be possible to decrease solubility by using a non-aqueous solvent. Because the solubility of CaF 2 spans several orders of magnitude, its solubility is shown in logarithmic form. Note that the solubility of CaF 2 is independent of pH for pH levels greater than 4.17, and that its solubility increases dramatically at lower pH levels where HF is the predominate species. The predominate form of fluoride in solution is shown by the ladder diagram along the x-axis, with the black rectangle showing the region where both HF and F – are important species. The solid blue curve is a plot of equation 8.11. At more acidic pH levels, the solubility of CaF 2 increases because of the contribution of reaction 8.9.įigure 8.2 Solubility of CaF 2 as a function of pH. When the pH is greater than 4.17, the predominate species is F – and the solubility of CaF 2 is independent of pH because only reaction 8.8 occurs to an appreciable extent. Depending on the solution’s pH, the predominate form of fluoride is either HF or F –. Problem 4 in the end-of-chapter problems asks you to show that equation 8.11 is correct by completing the derivation.įigure 8.2 shows how pH affects the solubility of CaF 2.
